Is anyone else running the 5" exhaust from summit? I put mine on a couple of months ago. I'm not impressed with the sound. It's not loud at all. The only time I can really hear it at all is when I'm up against a wall or something. I used the muffler, but I could look straight through the muffler and see the other side, I can't imagine it would quiet it down much.
all I have read the truck will be quiter when it is not under power.
some say it is quiter than stock with the 5 inch, at idle that is
I just order mine, not the same type you order tho
Keith
Nuthing quiet about the straight 5" from Mark R. Nice low rumble at idle and at 2000 rpm I can set off burglar alarms in ricers when i drive by (dont ask it was a fun afternoon in the wally world parking lot)

cant wait and to be able to drownd out the crapy music
I put the 5 inch from Summit on in the spring. Yes , it is loud when up against a wall , but , that is when you are in the cab. My 13 yr old son drives mine up and down the street and it is LOUD when I am away from the cab.
I've got it on my '01.
I didn't think it was loud at all, till my wife was driving it (and I was at home).
I heard a semi coming down the road, and then figured out it was my truck...
As a side note, I don't have to use doorbells much anymore. My friends know when I'm in the neighborhood!
I think there is a 'loud' way to put in the muffler and a 'quiet' way.
I was a little concerned that the wife would flip her lid at the sound of it, so I sheepishly installed the muffler the 'quiet' way. Now I kinda wish I'd have flipped it around.
