just wondering what would all you people do in this situation.
For starters i have a 89 f250 with a 4" lift and 315/75/16
bfgoodrich a/t's (particulary dont like the tires but thats an
other story) anyhow whats happening is when i turn the
tires rub the leaf springs due to the short back spacing of
my rims (which i do like) Now in this case do i step up and
spend 6-800 $$ for new wheels or do i get some 2" wheel
spacers that would set me back 228$ for all four corners??
i do know of some of the pro's and con's with spacers but
would like to hear from you guy's / gals.
I wouldn't run spacers. Since it is your truck, and you're probably the only driver, I'd put up with the rubbing and just try to plan my turns so I could not rub by turning to tight. On a side note, you could almost get 4 steel "White spoke" wheels or something similar for $228.
well thanks for the response.
3 against, good enought for me to say no to spacers, unless I get a really compelling
argument for them. So I'll just give myself a few extra months and save for a set of
wheels with a better back spacing.
There is an adjustment on the back of the steering knuckle to allow how far you can turn the wheel. It will obviously affect your turning radius, but it's a truck. At least you won't rub the tires on the springs.
