speedo isn't working?
Hey Guys. The speedo in my 2000 f350 psd isn't working. It kinda kicked in a few times the other day but thats about it. So now the abs light is stuck on. when it did kinda work on and off the abs light would go out then come back on. I thought it would be the sensor on the rear diff so I bought a new one from Ford but it still doesn't work. any idea's???

Was there alot of metal stuck to the old one? When mine did this, it was my ring and pinion was getting eatin up and it just kept getting stuck with metal on the end of the sensor. If not check the wiring, maybe you have a short right by the sensor.

there was a few shavings but nothing to bad for 200,000kms. I checked the wiring at the back of the truck and it seemed o.k. The only other mest up thing is the dumb door lock on the passengers side doesn't seem to get enough power to fully pop or lock.

i have a 2001 f-250 superduty and thats kinda wierd i have the same problem. my speedo only works backward. starts at the bottom 120 and goes to 80mph no farther. i took it to my mechanic and he said i need a new cluster. me door locks only work somtimes. most of the time i have to use the key. it is confusing.

The problem with your door locks is the actuators, two option to fix them 1.you can either replace them with new ones, or 2. you can fix them like so Tin Foil Fix.

I am thinking GEM, or a comunications problem. More symptoms would mean it could be GEM. I don't think that's your problem, but worth a check.

I bought a new speed sensor but that didn't work. I also tested the plug that clips into the sensor and it is fine also. But what is a GEM???

my 2000 f350 psd had the same problems. i was going to buy a new cluster at first but that takes an act of congress to do unless you get one from a junk yard. so luckly that i didnt get it and waste $300. i posted my problem on FTE and once again you all saved me ALOT of money! i changed the vss sensor on the rear diff. and that cured the speedo problem and the abs light problem. as far as the door locks i changed the actuators instead of the foil fix. either way they are a pain to get out. once you do one the second one is a cinch.
