I have a 06 SCREW 4x4 with 4.6 and it started idling rough at about 8500 miles. When I am stopped with it in drive I can feel it idling rough in the brake pedal. I now have 10,000 miles on it and I am getting ready to take it to the dealer to get the oil changed and I want them to look at why it is idling rough.<O</O

Has any body else had this problem? I don’t want to hear from the dealer that this is normal.<O</O

 

My 06 5.4 sometimes dosn't want to start when you crank it over. the owners manual addressed this and why it happens on occasion. I would recommend taking a quick look at the Q & A in your book. sometimes they are aware that it happens and what to do.

 

Took my 06 4.6 in at 900 mls for the same thing was told that it was set to run lean at idle for better fuel econ.

but I think its a Ford con.

 

yeah I usually just crank it over a second time and it starts right up. Ford dealer ship is 30 miles away in deep traffic, I have some miles to go yet on my warrenty before I make that trip

 

I've had mine in for the same thing. It has done it since new. The tech went through a long list of things he checked to see if there was something wrong, even though "it was typical of the 4.6." Hmmm. Feels like a friggin' miss to me?

I've also experienced the warm engine no start as well, a few times. Of course it never seems to do it for the dealer and there doesn't seem to be a pattern for when it occurs.
