Wassup Guys ...
Just purchased my '06 F150 XL Triton (4.6) w/ manual door locks and wanted to get a Viper alarm w/ keyless entry. Does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions? Is a power door lock actuator what I need to get 1st in order to buy the keyless entry alarm? New 2 the game. Please help. thanks guys
You are starting a keyless entry from scratch. You will need a power door lock kit to start, autoloc makes some nice parts. Then you will need the entry system. I haven't seen any combo kits.
You may not need a kit. All it took to add a power lock to my 1957 Ford was two standard Bosch-type relays, a Clifford alarm with Lock and Unlock outputs, and a generic door lock solenoid. The Clifford alarm manual clearly showed how to wire up the relays to the lock solenoid. The only tricky parts were getting wires into the door, and figuring out where to mount the solenoid in the door and link it to the lock mechanism.
