I installed four new infinity speaker to my truck today but could not isolate positive or negative wires from the speaker wires. Anyone have color coding for the speaker wires??
I tested both wires and both have a charge. The speakers are working but not sure they have the correct polarity. I used a multimeter and both wires came up around 6.8 volts so no +/- distinction. Grounded one plug on speaker and touched the positive and speaker played. reversed it and speaker played. Used the other plug same way and speaker played.
the trick is to use a 9-volt battery and test the speaker connections, if the speaker pushes outward, that is the correct way, and if the speaker pulls inward, it is reverse.
did u try putting the mutimeter on a different setting?..On mine i think i set it on ohms to see which wire was positive and which was negative.I think though that the negative is the striped wire though just my thought, not proven fact good luck though.Tell me how you like the infinity speakers. My friend has them in his stang and they sound good for 5 x 7's
speakers are much better than stock but the bass did not improve. Highs and mids are clear and no distortion. I did not think that the bass would improve any when I bought them but did not like the mid and highs distorting with the old speakers.
