Ok so I have a f250 Light duty 1999 I really love the truck,I plan on redoing the engine when and if it goes, possibly putting a supercharger on it so I want to hold onto this truck for a long time..
But I really would love to put a little bit of suspension lift under it and put some better wheels on it..
I was thinking earlier today with a buddy of mine about maybe switching the spindles and converting the suspension to that of a regular F150..Im not so much worried about the towing capacity because the most I tow is an open trailer with my GTO or Malibu on it..
So is it possibly to switch spindles and swap out rear ends and use a regular F150 lift?Or is their another way to do this?!
But if I put an F150 rear end in it, and F150 spindles and hubs would it work you think?
I really only would do that to put different wheels on it.
First and foremost I need to lift this thing,at least 4 inches..Anyone done it to a LD?

Nobody to my knowledge has performed a downgrade swap to get the lift. Could you? You'd be the guinea pig. I only think that the tortion bar rear mount location is different, but the hardware is identical everywhere else. You could therefore change out the spindles and go with a 5 lug rear, possibly 9.75." to make it work. It'd be odd, but there's an easier way....
There are people who have put a standard duty F150 lift kit on by merely going with larger U bolts on the rear. Make sure all is grade 8 and torqued.
The issue at hand is the warranty, either way you do it, if something goes to crap and any portion of the kit fails - it's all on you. Would an insurance company touch it? They may not. There are too many unknowns here.
