i work at the sheriffs dpt where this crap happens. Go Hudspeth County !!
It's my understanding that this won't do much to stop illegal immigration. The problem isn't knowing where they are crossing or having enough people to monitor these cameras, the problem is having enough patrol agents to get there in time to catch anyone. It's not like the border patrol agents are sitting around playing cards waiting for someone watching on the internet to give them a call.
you're right!, too much area to patrol, not enough agents to do it effectively.
in my opinion they should put up a cattle fence with a deterring electric charge on it. just to see how many get slowed down. if they want to be here, do it right and get legal papers letting them. like everybody else.

Fences are too expensive and easily comprimised. Better solution is to lay a dense minefield from the border to about a mile or so in on the Mexican side (no sense taking some American rancher's land for this). Word will get out very quickly and this nonsense will stop. The beauty of this aproach is that it's cheap, relatively speaking, and requires minimal supervision.
