2000 7.3 here. Anyone have any trouble when installing an MBRP 4" exhaust? I can't get the downpipe to stay away from the frame. It's pretty evident when turning left, makes some vibration on the floor. Also, the rubber mount close to the trannny support is being pulled forward. Is this normal? Other than that, I love the sound!

I just installed a MBRP on my 2000 Excursion and didn't run into any problems. The fit and finish were second to none. It went on like an OEM piece straight from the factory.

Other than wrestling with the downpipe to get it clamped onto the turbo exhaust, this was the easiest exhaust system I've ever bolted onto a vehicle.

What about the rubber mount close to the tranny support, is it being pulled forward?

I'm gonna look at it again tomorrow. Possibly re-install from turbo to muffler.

No, not at all.

Everything fits like it was from the factory.

Everything should fit they way it did from the factory. XylemXorro, I had the same problem when my dealer "neutralized" my exhaust. They took it apart and didn't put it back together properly. As a result, the pipe touched the frame and was causing a short, killing my performance and making a terrible noise if I hit a bump or shut my truck off. Loosen everything up and see if you can't get it to fit the way it should.

My truck didn't stay stock long enough for me to find out.

Once I had it on, I loaded up my tuner and was off. I also replaced the MBRP muffler with an Aeroturbine 4040 (the next day) that I already had on the stock system. But with your intake, you should see the 2-4 mpg gain as advertised (on average about 2 mpg without a tuner). Bone stock, I was getting 15-16.5 around town and about 17.5 one the freeway. With the Kwik filter, SCT X-Cal 2, Aeroturbine Muffler, and the MBRP pipes, I normally see no less than 17.5-18 mpg around town and as much as 22 mpg on the freeway.

Thanks T_D . I'll see WTF is going on. I'm guessing the small dents from shipping are to blame. There were some indentions on the ends of some of the pipes, and I thought I had smoothed everything out.
