I am trying to remove the center floor console from a 1999 Ford Expedition. I've gotten it all disconnected except for the frontmost electrical connection. I've tried everything I can think of, and can't get it to separate.
The connection looks like a gray box with various wires running into it. In the center is a bolt, which I have loosened but at a certain point it will just spin without loosening any more.
It is most frustrating to be so close to the goal and being hung up by this one electrical connection!
Once you have the bolt this loose it does not come out you can unplug it. If it is like the 98 once you have all the bolts out, including the two under covers at the back on the outside of the console you then slide the console back to unhook it from the floor.
It turns out that there is a clip inside the plug. It is necessary to insert a screwdriver into one of the slots on the rear of the plug box to release the clip.
