has anyone ever used off road fuel "you know, the red stuff" it has to be better than the ultra low sulfer fuel.
Who says... some say it is the same, but with dye and others say it has more sulfur? By law, off-road diesel can have higher sulfur content which will ruin certain aspects of your motor if used and "soot up" your motor oil causing the need for more frequent oil changes... hence negating the savings you tried to get from using dyed fuel.
Ford even has a TSB out for this as many were forced to use "off-road" diesel after the many hurricanes 1 and 2 years ago.
Do not use as the potential for harm to yor motor and the potential of being caught and fined... is not worth it for a +$40,000 truck!!!
off road fuel is dyed due to the tax break. any sign of this in any ford vehicle will void warranty instantly if it is found in a truck. one of my customers was fined 30,000 plus for being caught.

Ya... but aren't you in Canada... so when converted thats like $100.00 (ha, ha).
does ford really have something out about using off-road fuel in the trucks? as far as i know, it is only labeled "off-road" because of the lack of fuel taxes on it. there are a few farms around here and in KS that the people use the off-road fuel in there trucks that are licensed for farm use. they just dump the same fuel from thier holding tank into farm machinery and their trucks.
page 34 of the diesel supplement, states not to use off road fuel. use of this fuel can lead to damage. i cant find the actual statement about voiding waranty but i have heard this before many times.

No company is going to honor their warranty if you willingly damage their product. If so everybody would take their oil drain plug out at 35500 miles and run the engine until it blows to get a new warranty engine at the end of thier warranty.
Don't do it man! The off highway fuel is crap! It's allowed a much higher sulfur content and generally has a much lower cetane rating. It just don't burn hot enough to keep carbon from building up everywhere in your 6.0l. Last engine I replaced had that red crap in it and the #3 piston was a blob of melted aluminum, the EGR was caked solid and so was most of the intake manifold. Bad stuff dude!
off road diesel also is #2 home heating fuel oil. I burn it in my home furnace ,its very sooty. heavy construction co,s burn it in their equipment cats ect
