Fuel Filter

7.3 Liter Diesel Fuel Filter

I need some advice about fuel filters. I noticed I can go to one store and spend 49 dollars on an expensive fuel filter or go to AutoZone and get a cheap one for 24 dollars. The cheap one comes with a built in plastic top that screws into housing. Does anyone have any suggestions about what’s reasonable to spend and works?

When I changed my fuel filter, I got it from a local Pep Boys and it was a Purolator. Not a single problem yet. The diesels might be a different thing alltogether. Can't answer about that, maybe some of the diesel guys can help you out.

My brother has the 7.3L diesel and buys his fuel filters at the local parts store and has never had a problem.

I have a 6.0L diesel and buy my fuel filters off ebay..way cheaper then the dealer and parts store and have never had any problems.
The main thing is change them and change them regularly.

the only thing is that when ever you need a new filter you will have to get this kind because no other filter will work so if oyu do go with this filter, dont get rid of your other cap.

just a note, if your filters dont have the aqua bloc media on the chasis filter, you are wasting money. the chasis filter needs to have this because this is your main defense against water. the only place i know these are available are ih dealers and a ford dealer.
