New Tech

Hey everybody! My name is Brian, or Spike and I'm a diesel tech at Vision Ford in Rochester. I have been into diesels since 1985 when I started repairing them in the Army until 1994. I then started working as an Ambulance Repair Tech for Rural/Metro Medical Services in Rochester where I learned TONS about 7.3l IDI's and DIT's and became a Master Ambulance Technician. In 2004, I started working at Vision Ford and have picked up a lot of knowledge about the 6.0l Powerstroke. I have always been and always will be a Ford enthusiast although I'm not too sure about their customer base as of late, just seems like a lot of guys in spotless constuction clothes whining about a spot of oil on their driveways. I need to hear from people that love teir Ford to help get me back into the spirit of things!
Great to be here, Brian

Smile Alternitive Fuel truck

I just registerd for this site today and boy do I wish I had found it earlier. I recently installed a veggie oil conversion kit to my 97 powerstroke and had a heck of a time. I know a lot about gas motors, but lack a little when it comes to diesel. What do all you diesel folks out there think about using wvo (waste vegetable oil) for fuel? Mine seems to be working great other than the fact I have a leak on top of the motor. After reading other posts, sounds like it is probably the fuel pump. I will probably tackle that next weekend.
