Squeaking in the rear..

I am installing a set of Bilstein shocks tomorrow. Tonight I was spraying all the shock nuts with penetrating lube when I noticed that the rear springs are squeaking like crazy. Anytime the truck moves up and down the springs squeak.

Is the squeaking coming from the bushing or the springs themselves? I don't see any grease fittings. Am I missing something?

BTW, I have a 1999 F150 4x4 supercab with the offroad package.

There are little plastic circular tabs between the springs to keep them from squeaking. Yours have probably worn away from friction. My truck had this problem at about 110K miles.

Can they be replaced or do you have to replace the entire spring set?

I found a used spring at the junk yard. I used a large prybar on the springs to give me enough room to get the tabs out and slide the replacements in. Just don't pinch you fingers!
