It depends on what truck you have. If you have the 2 wheel drive then 33 X 12.50 on the stock wheels is the largest. If you have the 4 wheel drive then 35 X12.50 on the stock wheels will fit. If you go with aftermarket wheels then it depends on the back spacing.

Stock 17' wheels? If so the 285/70/17 looks great on a leveled f150 4x4 and no chance of rubbing.

I asked your same question a few weeks ago and got lots of replies with pictures. The 285/70/17 is a 32.7 inch tire.

Use the search option in this forum and you will see lots of threads that address this question. There are alot of opinions out there. Good luck.

Also here are two great links to convert tire sizes to inches. The 2nd link listed "miata" gives you a visual of the tire size also.

if you put the 35" tires on a level'd 4x4 you will be sorry. yes the tires do fit without rubbing...when level anyways. the second you go over a bump or drive down a dirt road, you're going to hear them rubbing. the 33" tire is looks really nice on these trucks and leave sufficient room for suspension flex.

get a lift if you want 35" tires

so a 33x12.50 would be a good tire for my 06 FX4, with a 2.5 level kit?

yes, looks great and plenty of room to stuff the tires in the wheel well if you go offroading.

make sure there is enough backspace if you're using the factory rims. a good tire shop will be able to steer you to the best set of rims you'll need if your current rims don't have enough backspace for the 12.5...I'm pretty sure they'll work fine though

do a forum search. quite a few people have already put 33"s on their trucks and they posted the exact size (10 or 12 or 12.5 I can't remember) that they're running right now
