C6 Trans Pan Replacement?
OK, so i changed the oil and filter in the trans, and noticed the pan is in not so good shape. There is rust on the lip, and it looks like someone wrenched down on the bolts to get it to seal. every one is flared a little bit around the hole. I am thinkin it might be time for a new pan. Looked at LMC truck and ebay. they both have the same chrome pan with fins on the bottom. Has a nice C6 engraved in it to. The thing is it's only like $20. Is this pan any good? I'm just looking for somethin that is stock capacity to do the job. Anyone have any experience with these?

i had the same exact thing happen with my c-6 it leaked like a mother, i bought the 20$ chrome finned pan with the drain plug and installed it. It doesnt leak a drop and is solid and looks great. If it is 4wd you will need to take out the filter tube thing for it to fit, use thread lock and go 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn from seating.dont overtighten it. You will need a 1/4" drive with 1/2" socket to get the 3 rear bolts above crossmember. As far as the pan goes it is perfeclty fine.

I have straightened many c6 pan flanges with a flat surface, a hammer, and a large diameter punch. Flatten it out and check it with a straightedge. When it is straight install it with an original cork gasket and torque the bolts to 100in/lbs.
