anybody got a diagram for testing the gpr on these engines? mines not clicking like it should be ..(tested when warm....had 12 volts on one big post=----otha had none...but engine was warm?!?!)
You should see b+ on both big terminals if GPR is working. BEst way to test it is cold or at least until the EOT has dropped below 131 degrees. To verify the EOT is lower than 131° Disconnect EOT, Measure across the 2 pins on the sensor. Should be more than 11 ohms.
You should see less than .5 ( thats 1half ) volt drop through the relay. example If you have 12.5 volts on the big post that has power full time, you should have 12 volts or more on the other big post when relay is energized. The way I test is have your volt meter ready and clear access to the relay. Turn the key to run and HURRY to the meter and relay (the computer only energizes the relay for 2 minutes and then de-energizes it). Take both readings while the relay is energized, if not the results will be skewed because of the huge draw the glow plugs put on battery voltage. You will see what I mean if you have the meter on the relay when it de-energizes the voltage will jump up.
Hope I helped, good luck.
