Rancho Shocks ????

Hey ya'll I am fixin to put new shocks on my 2001 F-250-it is a supercab 4x4(stock height). I have checked some prices, and found the Rancho RS5000's for like $40.00 each. Have any of you used these shocks? I am looking for a better ride, highway driving mostly. I think my truck still has the original shocks on it?
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you know where to find them any cheaper than that let me know too.
Thanks and God Bless
Steve

i have the rancho 5000 and i hate them. they make the truck ride way too stiff. if i could do it again i would fork over the extra cash for some bilsteins. do a search on ebay, i think you can pick up a set for about 250.

Who makes kyb's? Are the bilstein worth $20 more a piece? Than the RS5000's?

go to the KYB web site and find out what catalog number you need. Then go shop on line. I forget where I got mine. KYB manufactures their own shock and they have a fantastic reputaion for reasonably priced quality. I have a big slide in camper 4,000 lbs and they sure smoothed out my ride.

i think the bilstins are worth the extra money, but i have never been in a truck with the kyb's. stock lenght shocks will work up to a 3in lift.

I have the RS5000s...I think they're ok. Though I will admit I don't have anything but the stock shocks to compare them to. My ride did get a lot better after I replaced the stockers with the 5000s, no more bouncing around.

Go with the Bilstein's. As far as future mods (lift) no the factory height Bilsteins will not work. At factory height you will get the traditional blue and yellow shock set. Once lifted you will be switched to their 5100 series shocks. I have 8 of them on my truck (2 on each corner) and it's still a sweet ride. You won't regret the extra expense after they are installed. Smooth ride and alot less 'body roll' in the corners.
