Larger Spare Tire?

I have recently replaced the stock 235-75/15 tires on my 1989 F-150 with 31-10.5/15 tires, and I still have the standard spare.

My question is, if I get a flat and put the stock spare on with the 31's is this going to hurt things until I can get the tire repaired?

Thanks.

No worse than a donut spare.

If you use it on a non-driven wheel, or on an open differential, there will be no effect with respect to extra wear. With a LSD or locker; however, you want to replace it with the right size ASAP.

What he said, but if you are cheap and have an LSD/locker and blow a rear tire, you could move a good front tire to the back and put your spare on the front instead. I didn't want to spend an extra $200 on a full-size spare, so I will have to swap tires if I blow a rear one.
