was thinking of putting an air intake on my 7.3 excursion will i notice the difference in MPG and performance with just this mod? also not sure which one was thinging of either the K n or the afe stage 1 dont want to break the bank with this in the future im planning on a 4 inch exhaust and a programmer which should i do first????
i just had to change the oil for my first time man does this thing hold alot also did fuel filter and reg air filter as well as front brakes with new rotors pads and calipers the truck has 94,000 miles on it now and i occasionally about 4 times a year tow a camper of around 6,000 pounds usually not more than 200 miles one way...any advice?
Put on an AFE stage 1 w/ proguard 7. seems to have gained a mile or two per gallon. will know more this week when it goes across the state. I am also looking at the 4" exhaust next.
put in ford ais ,dont know about extra mileage but truck runs much better big difference over stock filter.i have 4 inch exhaust wating to be put on but will have dealer fix oil leak first under 100000 warranty,
I put the 6637 NAPA filter on my truck. I got another MPG from it on my PSD, so it was worth it. I'm going with the 4" exhaust, then the gauges, & finally the programmer (Diablo). I'd have gone down this road sooner, but the $$$ got spent on other stuff.
I am also trying to make up my mind between the AFE-1,the air-raid and the K&N.. I had the K&N filter in my 'burb and took it out 'cuz it didn't appear to be doing any good..Also looking at the AIS..What to do,what to do... After this will also be going with the 4" exhaust.. Well,the old lady wants sheepskins on the seats before the exhaust,soooo..
The Stage II will get you a SOTP return, not like a chip mind you but you'll feel it and hear it! Get the PG7 stops the dirt but folws the air. By the way we just did a year end super large buy on the Stage II's and are passing the discount on to customers!
