Mbrp

Hi All, I just got finished installing my cat back mbrp on my 05 250 4x4.The installation went perfectly, and cutting the exhuast behind the muffler took me the longest.I used a cutting wheel! i'm very happy with the installation. Took an hour and a half from start to finish. Sounds great too! Anyway... Was just wondering if there was anyone who had warranty issues with a catback system?Truck is stock, runs great, but i dont want any problems ya know! Thanks for any replies.

You shouldn't have any problems with just a cat back system. You left the engine and cat alone so you're ok.

Diesel Dan:
I have not installed the system on my 06 yet, but I called 6 different dealerships and talked to their service advisors about whether or not changing the exhaust would create warranty troubles. Every one of them said "No, it won't." The only caveat was that the new exhaust would not be covered (from rust, corrosion etc.), but your motor, tranny, and everything else is fine. No Biggie.

Did you ask about changing the complete exhaust or just a cat back? Just curious what they would say if the downpipe was changed.

I told them that I was interested in installing a 4" turbo-back exhaust system, and installing gauges to monitor EGT's. They all said that would be ok as far as warranty with the motor is concerned, but will the exhaust will no longer be covered under warranty as expected.

I think the best thing for anyone to do prior to making a mod that they're concerned about, is to call at least 5 different dealerships in your area and talk to a service advisor. That way you'll know before doing it.
