Anyone else get the little card with the 5 digit number on it, but not have an entry keypad? I have one when I got my 06 back in January, the dealer said they didn't know why I had one in there either. Maybe I have the module already? BTW my truck is an 06 XLT
Man, leave it to the dealer to NOT KNOW what the product is that they are selling you. Just sell.....sell......sell. Let the customer worry about finding out things later that the dealer should have been knowledgeable about and informed the customer about in the first place when they purchased the vehicle. What is this world comming to ? My point of this......... I called and talked ot the General Manager from where I purchased my truck, a couple of months after purchasing my truck, because I could not find the curb weight of my truck listed anywhere on the truck or in any of the books that came with my truck. Needed this info. for the alignment shop to see if their equiptment would handle the truck. The G.M. had no idea what it was and had to call the factory and find out. Pathetic. The sales staff needs to be more knowledgeable of the product that they are selling you. All of the newer trucks come with all of the basic wiring and small components for alot of the options available on our truck. This way it makes it easier for the dealer to install the final components for whatever options you want on your vehicle, if it came from the factory without an option that you want. Yes, the module is there and so is the wiring. However, the keypad the dealer will install in most cases, is aftermarket and does not look like the ones installed from the factory.
