last night I was trying to watch the Overhaulin' re-run of Foose's 56 ( dang trick or treaters kept interupting me) I don't remember if it was mentioned in the show or not, but did anyone notice that when they did the bed they used the early style (37-50) rounded stake pockets and rear bed x-member?
When they start out the bed has the flat sided bed square stake pockets and square rear x-member, later on it has the nice rounded pockets and rounded rear x-member. It looks realy good and give the bed that extra added oomph.
I sure wish they would have spent more time on the mods being made and less time on the personalities (maybe they should have made it a 6 hour program for us truck geeks)
That was the "Overlord" episode in season III. If you go to the Overhaulin' website you can look at the dozen or so photos they have posted there of the build.

a dozen is not enough, i want close ups of everything.. heh
They spend a lot of time with the thank yous at end -and that is nice, but I want to see close-ups of what mod's they are welding and cuttin and stuff us truck dudes love--all the huggin is not for me---but I would not mind it with AJ--or even CHIP--HA HA!!!nice 56
Thanks to two very nice members here I have the episode on tapes. I never paid that much attention to the stake pockets. I will try to watch it again this weekend and look closer.
I didn't notice i the first time I saw the show either. I guess they caught my eye the other night because I've been messing around trying to replace them on my truck.
It sure helps the later model flat sided beds, it breaks up the boxiness of it a bit
