While replacing the radiator in my 56 F100, I noticed that the radiator support bushings were missing. I ordered a new set, but I'm not sure how everything stacks up. Does anyone know the order of installation? Anyone have a picture?
I lurk a lot, post occaisonally and appreciate the site always.
I'm not sure I understand what radiator support bushings are. I just pulled the radiator support in my 48, but not sure if I have radiator bushings. Can you elaborate?
Vern, I'm not sure how a 48 is, but on the 56 there are two round rubber bushings and a flat piece of rubber that mount the radiator support (the u shaped piece that the radiator bolts to) to the frame. The flat one seems to go between the support and frame, but I'm not sure where the two round ones go, either between the support and frame or on top of the support. Logic says they all go between the two parts, but if they do, then there is a big gap where the flat center rubber goes.
The flat ones go in the center between the U and the frame crossmember and the round ones go on either side outboard of the flat ones. It will become apparent when you get the parts and look at the logic of assembling them.
