Thats what I was hoping to hear. Did you have to tap for your pyro or is it a band clamp style? Also, could I mount them in the dash. Not sure if I want a pillar mount or not. I was thinking of putting the pyro where the shift on the fly 4wd switch would be (mine is a floor shift) and the boost on the opposite side.
Yes, I had to drill and tap for the pyro. I mounted both my gauges in the dash. I figured the pillar would be too distracting. I have decided not to get a boost gauge as I do not plan on modifing the truck enough to go over the stock limitations. I have however, ordered the 80hp econo tune from JOdy. I am still waiting for it, but it should be here today!!
Thats what I was planning to get. Did you get the pcm flash or the chip. Also, how much louder is your truck over stock with the straight pipe and 6637 mod? Also, any pics of your gauges? What are the sonnax and the SS HPX mods you have listed?
I got the PCM flash, as I only tow once a month and its a 15 mile haul. Nothing major at all. Truck isnt really loder with the straight pipe. It just has a nice deeper rumble at idle. You can really hear the turbo sing when you get on it. THe 6637 + straight pipe makes her come to time. The sonnax kit is the tricummulator spring in the trannys valve body. It was like $60, but when I first put it in it KILLED my tranny. SHe was on her last leg and the added umph did her in. If I had to do it over, BTS all the way. Granted, its more money. Do a search for the HPX mod. Its a high pressure cross over line that balances the oil pressure. I highly recommend it. That was like $60 from ITP.
Damn, am I just being a cheap *** when it comes to modding my truck?
You sound like you are in the same boat as me. Lots of PMS and low $$$$$.
I am looking at doing the same mods. I don't tow anything, just commute 40 mi round trip to work, mostly highway. Looking for better mileage and some more power.
Yeah, especially with xmas coming around. I am going to have just under $200 invested and have my gauges and 80hp tune from Jody. Cant beat that with a stick.
I sent it out Priority mail cuz overnight was stupid expensive. Jody got it in 2 days. He called me when it arrived and he flashed it and sent it back the same day (last friday). He sent it back to me UPS ground but eta is 3 days. Hopefully it will get here today.
Empire, I'd really like to get more info on your guage install. Do you have any pics? I'm still not sold on the pilar either. How hard was it to install in the dash? Give us some details please....

The gauges I got are 2 1/16. I drilled a 2" hole in the plastic and then used my dremel to make it just big enough for the gauge to slide in. They went in nice a tight, no need for screws or anything.
I'll post some pics as soon as i get a chance.
JPL, overnight shipping is always an option. Will run like $100 though.
