vin clarification

thinking of picking up a 52 f8 dump. VIN says F8K2HM. Am I to understand that this has the 272 Lincoln in it? It needs a total restore, but I think I'll pick it up anyway as the price is right. thanks for any and all help.

Sorta, but not quite, according to the shop manual the 52 F7 used the new OHV 279 and the F8 had the 317.

Sorry, don't know about the 54 - my shop manual only goes to 52.

You might ask the guys down in the Y-Block forum. Good luck with it.
