Cab interchangeability???
I ahve an '86 F-250 with a rotted out cab. Corner separated no drivers side and floors are beat. What year carbs will interchange with a direct bolt on and what are the differences from earlier years? What must be modified to make, say a '78-'79 cab fit?? Thanks!

The cab mounts are in different locations on the earlier trucks. Any cab from 80-96 will bolt on to your frame, but the problem will be getting your dash in a newer cab. 80-86 are obviously the same, but the 87-93 and 93-96 trucks had different dashboards. It may be possible that your old dash could bolt in to a newer cab. As I am swapping parts from my 95 to my 85, I am noticing that ford seems to have retained all the old attaching points while just adding new ones for the newer parts. Unfortunately, I have no plans to swap the dashboards in my trucks, so I can't tell you for sure.
