I took my 90 bronco 5.0 to ge the automatic hubs fixed. The guy fixed them by making them in manuel hubs. While doind this i told if he could check my trany cuz it he fixes transmission but when i got it i drove it for a mile and stop at red light when it turned green it would not shift into 2nd gear. what could be the problem?
Correct, now i got manual hubs. I called him and he told me to reverse like 10 miles and than put it on drive so that way the tranny can unlock he also told me to do it going 15miles foward and than put it on reverse. I would take it to him but its to far i need to towe it over there to him.

wow.
i cant believe people like that can stay in business...thats one of the craziest things ive ever heard - REVERSE FOR LIKE 10 MILES!!! wow.
I got the truck fixed that same day i just got really busy and also excited to try out my truck again. But my uncle new what the guy was talking about but not with those speeds that the mechanic said. The mechanic had opened the transmission pan to check how the trany was well when he closed it and put new trany oil some of the shavings that it had got stuck between the gears so that is why it would not shift. So my uncle lifted the back and put it on drive going like 5 miles and hour than he would shift it to reverse to snap the shavings from the gear.at the same time i was hitting the trany with a ruber mallet softly to try to loosen it like that also. Than like 5 minutes later it was fixed and has not acted up since. Thanks for everyones help.
you need to drain the tranny again and replace the filter. any metal shavings in there will ruin it fast and if its an E4OD tranny that is the most expensive to have rebuilt. just dont take it back to that tranny guy.
just a note
if you drive your truck in reverse for 10 miles i surely would hope you could make it to the transmission shop that nitwit works at while you're their and only after you work the kink out of your neck you might want to tell him how much of a nitwit he is with a boot up his *** and then get your truck towed from there to a more repatable transmission mechanic where they would have recognized metal in the pan and flushed the transmission changed the filte and replaced with new fluid and you would have never experienced this particular problem
He meant MPH not Miles (even though it was written that way. Check his last post and you'll catch it. Not that that make sit any better slamming the tranny into reverse and then drive!!!
