Which programmer is better

I know this topic has been beaten to death but I am not looking to gain gas mileage as most people are. I have gotten used to 11MPG. A mileage gain would be a plus, but I am looking for transmission shifting changes. I want a firmer feel and less hesitation on take off. What should I be looking for?

I hear ya man. I've been researching tuners for 2 weeks now. I've read miles of ads and BS. I've seen lots of dyno charts enough to be sick. I've came across SCT tuners and they seem to be the best. They just done a blow out. They put their excalaber against every body else's and they post the results. All three stages too. In all stages they did'nt make the most HP, or Torque. Sometimes the HP was down a couple pony from the highest one, or a pound or 2 from the lead. I think ion stage 3 they had highest HP and Torque. The thing is they got closer to what they say they'll get and by THEIR dyno charts they stay in the power band and lot longer. I have'nt bought one yet. I'm still researching the company. They seemed so far to be standup guys. I called them yesterday of course they was closed and when i got in today i noticed they had called back. Good luck in your search post what you find as i'm interested also.

I have an SCT Excaliber II from Troyer Performance and like it. I am going to TP on 11/11 for dyno day. I will let you know my results. Definitely felt an improvement. Today is the last day of their group buy at the reduced price. Go for it!

Talking SCT all the way . .

SCT Xcal2 all the way. Try Joe Cram ($379), www.Dynojoe.com, or Innovative Diesel, an FTE sponser here. Both come w/ 3 custom tunes for your truck; Aggresive tow, Performance, and street.

I think the test you are referring to was done independently on the top 10 aftermarket tuners and the SCT performed the best over all like you discussed. I don't think they did it, they participated in a competition.

"SCT recently participated in the 6.0L Diesel Shootout in Nashville Tennessee September 3rd, 2005. The results of this independent test speak for themselves! "

It really is the best programer for the money, f;lexibility, programs offered, and it is completely removable.

I know that it just came out, but has anybody used the ATS E-power custom tuner on their 6.0?
