Exclamation I need HELP with a bog problem!

I have a 1978 F150 Ranger Long bed with a 351m motor, and a Motorcraft 2150 Carb. It has got a problem that has me stumped. Recently it started acting like it was starving for fuel under accelleration, even mild accelleration. I thought it might be a fuel filter, but replacing it didn't really solve the problem. So far I've replaced the fuel filter, added an extra one between the tank and the fuel pump, replaced the fuel pump itself, replaced the power (enrichment) valve, adjusted the fuel mixture, and changed the spark plugs. After each part was replaced, I was able to get it running for a short period of time (10-15 minutes) before it started bogging down and trying to die on me. The truck starts fine, and even idles while it's in park without any kind of stumble or miss, but as soon as I try to actually drive it the problem returns. The carb was re-built about two years ago. Also, the little tube that transfers hot air from the intake to the choke is rusted and broken in half. Any ideas on where I can get a replacement piece?

Test your ignition module and distributor pickup module. Most part stores can do this for free.

Generic heat riser tubes are available but it is often easier to just fabricate one.

BTW- Welcome to FTE!

You're going to verify if it is fuel or spark first.

The list is long without verification.

There are 2 kinds of engine shut-down.

Immediate (ignition) or slowly (fuel delivery)

Hey, thanks for your input guys. It was a slow shutdown, and we finally traced it to a plugged soffet in the fuel tank. The (temporary) solution was to blow compressed air through the lines from the fuel pump back. When the blockage cleared, I lost about 1/2 a gallon of fuel out of the filler neck, but the truck is back to running like a top again. Low tech, but it worked and now I can work on getting the tank dropped and boiled, or replacing it altogether.
