Fabman,
Have you done anymore testing on this product. I've been running 50/50 at temps as low as 10* with no problems so far. I put some Technol in with it. I also added 8oz. of Diesel Kleen (white bottle) with the regular fuel.
How much technol per gal of Bio does the company recommend? I used 6oz to treat 16gal of bio, I think that was over kill but I didn't have the time or measuring device to be more accurate.

1 gallon of Technol B-100 will treat 750 gallons of B-100. I've been using it on my B-100 this winter with good results. 0 gelling problems so far down to 6 deg!

I haven't finished my "cold" chamber yet, but I'm working on it!

if 1 gallon treats 750 gallons of fuel, 1 ounce will treat about 5.86 gallons, so looks like 3 oz would have treated 16 gallons, aren't those reccomendations for down to 30degrees though?
hey fab do you add anything else besides the technol? what's a cold chamber?

The recomended treatment is for LOWERING the gell point by 30 deg. I don't add anything else, nothing else is needed!

The cold chamber is a sealed refrigerated chamber with a glass front [so pics can be taken] with a very sensitive control. This will allow me to drop the temp in the chamber 1 degree at a time, so I can observe the cloud and gell point.

how much were you using per gallon of B100 to have no antigel problems at 6degrees??? does it seem like the more you add the lower the gel point? your first test only dropped the cloud point by 10 deg?
I also wanted to ask you if that stuff has antioxidant properties as well?

I did a 750 gallon batch for winter use, used 1 gal of Technol B-100. My testing on the first batch was flawed, that's why the difference. Using more than recommended doesn't drop the gel point any lower.

Don't know about antioxidant properties, but I would doubt it, as B-100 contains about 10% oxygen [biodiesel is an oxygenated fuel].

The oxygen contained in the BD molecule is not a problem because it has no bond sites available

Free atmospheric O2 is the problem. Since BD has a low surface tension it easily absorbs O2 from the air and it is that oxygen that is responsible for the oxidation problem. A lot of research is being done to counter it but nothing definite at this time.

Just got back from my cabin in the mountains and wanted to give an update on my Bio at cold temps. I filled my truck up on Jan. 31st with a 50/50 mix; I added 4oz. of technol and 8oz of Diesel Kleen (white bottle). Went to work and left the truck sitting in the driveway not plugged in. Temperatures hovered around zero and for the seven days while I was gone. I got home Wednesday night the 7th of Feb. plugged the truck in and went to bed. Got up the next morning and the truck started right up, did some local running around then pulled the snowmobile trailer to the cabin. The truck sat till Saturday not plugged in and started with no problems. The temps never got above 10* during the day. So far I have hadn't had any problems with a 50/50 mix. I'm digging the $36.00 fill up's now the biggest expenditure for a couple day's of riding is the cost of gas for the sleds.
