I bought an ignition and key, but have not found a bezel for a '52. How different are the '53 and up ones? I know the online store has them for those years. Can some one decribe the shape of the hole in the dash for them for me? Is it bigger, smaller, the same?
The 53 bezel locks directly in to the switch with something like a 1/8 turn and is held in place with spring pressure. If the 52 and 53 switch are not the same PN, I would be surprised if the 53 bezel would work.
If the bezel is the same as my '51 the bezel just screws on the end of the ignition switch. I do have an extra but would need to be recromed. It was rusty until I took it to the wire brush.
Well, sounds to me like I have a '53 ignition, it came with a sping and the keys have the v shape with "FORD" in block letters on the top. I've been wondering about the keys. Why are parts suppliers so ignorant when they make their catalogs? I got '53 drums instead of '52 for my brakes when I ordered those I wonder if I can sue them for false cataloging.
Wait, so is the hole the same? I think the '52s like the Nissan symbol with the slot going through the middle. Is that the way the '53+ is?
