Ill tell you, the best bang for the buck youll get on the 4.6 is on of our BamaChips custom tuners. With a tune, we gained almost 50 lbs of torque at the wheels. That was just downright impressive!
There are plenty of things you can do though, intake, exhaust, efans, pulleys, etc.
Check out our site when you get a chance, we laid it all out so youll know all your options without spending an hour looking around for parts. We even sell a lot of these mods grouped up into Power Packs.
Well from my expierence (with Modding my 6.0L Turbo Disesel) I did my mods in the following order (Note: if I were to Mod my 4.6L gas engine I would probably do the same thing):
1. Gauges. Always get your gauges FIRST before doing any heavy Modding (Oil Temp gauge, TRanny gauge (EGT), and I had a Boost gauge for my diesel but you can get another useful gauge insted of the boost gaguge.)
2. Intake. I had an Airaid intake setup. K&N's are good as well.
3. Tuner/Chip. There are many Sponsors on the site now with plenty of info. on the tuners they sell.
4. New Exhuast setup. I would go Duel Exhaust.
These are the "base-line" mods. to start off. Most are "fairly" cheap. What sucks about these gas motors is that with a tuner/chip you can only get an additional 20HP or so out of the motor but with the diesel you can get a 120+ HP increse out of it.
Hope this list helps.
There should be not trouble finding a centrif. s/c for your truck. Paxton, vortec, powerdyne, all of those should have off the shelf kits with a gain of about %40 or more.
If you want to spend some big bucks, definitely go with the forced induction.
If not, that truck could use a computer chip and you could feel the gain!
