Okay, I have a 99 F350 Crew Cab with 8' bed, 4x4, PSD, and 6spd. It is not a dually. It has the D1 differential (3.73 LS) in the back.
I jacked the truck up to work on the parking brakes and tried to spin the tires with the tranny in neutral and the transfer case in neutral. Mind you the entire axle and wheels where up and for the life of me, I had a hard time spinning those tires. There was no emergency braking at the time (because that is what I was adjusting to get some).
I jacked up the front and even with the hubs locked, these spun free.
Is this just the Limited Slip or drive train or is there a maintence problem here?
I would just think that this would be a bit easier to turn because the easier they are to turn the less heat I generate and less hp is robbed from the truck.
It shouldnt be too hard to turn. Try to d/c your driveshaft and spin it, it should spin pretty easily. Even though it is LS is should spin relativly easy.
