Seems to be a common problem with the E4OD's unless they have been updated. From what I hear though, after they have the proper updates, they are decent trannys. I love my 5 speed for that reason.

According to Carfax, mine seems to have rolled over for the second time about 3k miles ago. Though for that to be true it had to have had the second 100k put on it in just the last 3 years before I bought it.

It was a mess (mechanically) when I got it, but it seems to be running pretty good now - and with very little financial investment. No major oil consumption or other problems.

Talking

I had a 94 non- turbo that had 480,000 on it did the normal stuff like ip at 250,000, trans at 375,000 (porbably #3), water pump. It devloped a constant knock I guess you would call it when I was making a run out to des moines with a unit It had run a quart or so low with out me knowing. I don't know if that was a factor or not I was pushing it hard like I always did. The knock was very faint but it was there so I sold it to one of my drivers and his dad still drives it today like three years later with no problems.

I just bought my '92 and it only has 79,000 miles on it. Hardly ever driven apparently.
Looking forward to getting 300,000+

N-I-C-E! If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay for such a low-mileage gem?

My 93 F250 Turbo has around 230,000 Km and runs great. It's the first vehicle I've owned that I haven't had to worry about checking the oil every 2 weeks. (On most of my "experienced" vehicles it was at least once a week.)

Bought an 88 F250 7.3 C6 3 speed Regular Cab in 1999. Personally put 142,000 on it. It currently has 289,000 miles. IP replacement along with other expected parts that need replacement. Not too many computers also, if your into that. Not my main means for transportation for the past 1 1/2 years. Love keeping it to learn more and it's a neat, simple, tough little truck.

I have keep the same schedule as the two previous owners.
Keep the oil, air, and fuel clean.

Every 5,000 miles.
  • Oil and Filter Change
  • Air Filter
  • Fuel Filter

I gave $10500 from a Dealer in Port Angeles.

Found it in Auto Trader.
