Atlast, fortune has smiled on me, once again placing a Bronco beneath me. From 99-05, I drove a 94 XLT Bronco. Last fall, amdists a cascade of "nickle and dime," problems, my trusty E40D began puking fluid anytime the truck was run for more than an hour. I couldn't afford the replacement trans, and the beast herself needed a good bit in the way of cosmetics. So for the last year, Ive driven loaner vehicles, none of them fitting me and my tastes like the fallen steed in my driveway.
Then two weeks ago, my mechanic calls me and asks if I would be interested in a 1990 EB 302 FSB. It needs a radiator, and fuel & water pumps. when its all said and done, I will only owe the labor costs of installing and inspecting the new Bronco, as the overall vehicle cost. it has more rust than my old girl, bit she's never been hit.
Basically this post is just to tell ya's where Im commin from, and to introduce myself. As soon as I take ownership of my second Bronco, I intend to pester and/or cajole any of you folks, into helping me figure out the most economical (re: cheap) way to set up a nice lil mover
Absolutely gonna keep both. My 94 was a tried and true beast of burden for 6 years, Ive got...plans.. for her <insert evil scientist laughter here>. But that, is another story. The 90 is going to get some much needed improvements, just to bring it up to my comfort specs.
How quickly the tides of fate have turned against me. Was just informed by my mechanic, who is also the owner of my "new" 90 Bronco, that upon closer inspection of the undercarriage of said rig, he cannot, in good conscience, sell me the truck. Along with the $600 we had already agreed on for repairs/purchase cost, it would also need floor pans in the back, and all new front and rear brake hardware, including lines. All 6 Shocks were rusted tight/blown out. End result is, my dream of being back behind the wheel of a FB has been delayed at the very least. The good news is, my father is giving me a '87 F-150 4x4. Unfortunately that means I guess I have to relocate to the F-150 boards heh. If anyone in the Philadelphia, PA area has or knows of an 87-96 Bronco for parts or cheap, please lemme know.
Thanks y'all
The Admiral
