So far, Im looking at a 460 out of a 71 lincoln. No knocks, smoke ect.
Im looking at this crank: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...043272532&rd=1 Will this work with stock rods/pistons? Should I go for the shorter stroke, long stroke, or what? This engine will be going in my 78 bronco.
The 4 bbl intakes on the lincolns, are they any good, even worth temporarily running on this engine?
Well the only crank in that listing that can use the stock rods and pistons is the 3.85" stroke crank, and why spend the money on that crank unless the stock one is torn up and even then why cause stock cranks are pretty cheap. the stroker versions use BBC rod bearings and need 6.8" rods and stroker pistons to work.
As to whether to go with a longer stroke or not is up to you, if your looking for budget then I would say no because it's never cheap as rebuilding it to stock 460, but it does increase the CID and there just ain't no substitute for cubic inches.
Well with only having $600 your kinda limited, so a new carb, and tuneup parts like plugs, wires cap and rotor. and upgrade to an electronic dist (the one out of your 351M will work) As to what power it has well probalby double what that 351M has stock.
