well i finally got my motor back and i started tearing into it and well i spun a bearing intresting considering it only has 240,000 miles and really thats not acurate its more ike 210,000 but anyways i found this place diesel direct down in flordia i gona get a whole drop in with turbo and everything for 4250$ with one year unlimited mile warentee soo im hoping i wont have no more isseus with anything haha...... but why would myt bearing spin in my motor any ideas??
I'm needing to swap out my motor sometime (like 40k miles ago) I was going to go with promar out of NJ.
$3k for a longblock, sleeved and all. Free shipping is a bonus too.
maybe call them up and see whatcha think, they have a page too.
Long use and many miles will eventually wear most bearings, if you go too far then they will turn. If you have a good strong engine with lots of life left, I would just replace the crank and bearings. Replacing the oil cooler might be a good thing too.......
lol noo everything is shot the turbo the injecter pump the injecters yeah the rings might of been fine and stuff but its just aint worth the hassel when i could get it back together and find out ohh look it burns coolant ya know? i i mean if everything else wasnt shot i prolly would just buy a crank and bearings?

At what point would you determine that it was time to do that? My motor has close to 250,000 and feels like a good canidate. What is considered good compression as a guage for "lots of life left" with a motor such as mine? I simply dont have $5000 for a new motor.
if you go to ebay and type in 7.3 idi it will show up thers another name they go buy for the motors and i forgot what he told me well my motor was 425 psi in all the cyinders but one it just decided to spin a bearing and mine had 237000 on the odo but i know it had less cuz my speedo is off soo im guessin around 220 the motor had u hope u dont have to spend 5 grand... i cant even afford it thank god for parents to help out..
