1997 Ranger dome light

I want to rewire my dome light so I can turn it off with the doors open. But fisrt I can't find the trick to get the cover off. Help

I think mine just pops off with some gentle pressure on the front and back edges. I don't know if the '97 is the same. I'll try and check after work today.

When I got my truck, the PO had "solved" the problem of the dome light not shutting off by covering the lens with electrical tape. He'd pull the lens off if he wanted the dome light to see something, but it didn't bother him when it failed to shut off while he was driving. (He didn't know about the WD-40 trick...) IIRC, you'd just grab the back of the lens and pull it down and forward. It's not hard to do, I could do it easily with one hand while driving.

I took the bulbs out mine & put a flashlight in the cab...
