been hearing alot about the ebp valve and tube. i am having the same problem as everyone else .where is it and how do you clean it. i dont mean to sound like a dummy .but i am kinda new to diesels thanks .
The valve itself is on the turbo, and I doubt you have any problems with the valve itself. The sensor is on the front of the motor, in front of the HPOP resivoir. The metal tube comes off the bottom of the sensor and goes to the passenger side exhaust manifold.
You might try running a search on the EBP sensor. There have been several threads lately discussing it.
The problem you have, is it just the hissing noise and loss of power as the EBPV closes? That is normal operation, and short of disabling it, there is no way to
fix that. But, throwing EBP codes can be fixed. The sensor is on the top of the engine, in the very front, right behind the serpentine belt. It is a 1" socket that is needed to remove it. If you follow the tube down, you see that it terminates at the very front of the right side exhaust manifold. Remove the nut from the manifold with which i believe is a 9/16" wrench, and you can blow through the tube without even removing it from the engine, it's a pain to snake out. Use a piece of wire at first to poke a hole through, and then a pipe cleaner to finish it off if you don't have compressed air.
Losing boost, High Egt, and Hissing are all characteristics of the EBPV closing. it's normal until the engine warms up. once you reach full operating temp, it won't happen.
