hi i just got an 84 f150 with a v6. im having prolems with the idle it want to miss and stall. i put in new plugs cap and rotor and plug wires it still dose it. i tryed to tune the carb but still happens what should i try next
thanks
Have you checked to see if its partly flooding out? Too much choke will make it run like that also....Lean an rich mixture screws could also make a lean condition. Also a vaccum line could be sucking air and causeing rough idle, or loose carb bolts around carb. intake.
i was told by a moron that sometimes old trucks run better with the egr un hooked like mine is. is there a way to test it to see. i dont even know where to start looking for the vac line that hooks to it. thanks and sorry for all the stupid questions
I believe thaty the egr should be connected if it is there, I say this because in one position it would cause a vacum leak. That would be bad oh....I belive a diagram would be on the underside of the hood...called an emmission control label. I am a new user like you but most users here comment to get a plate and seal it to take care of the vacum leak...of course this would be relative to the state you live in cause of the emmission laws in some union states.....to where that thing hooks....my guess would be the place that is unhooked and on the low pressure side....
