the 94, to 01 are a slush box. I have driven a 5.2L? Magnum the truck sucked huge. My V6 is more capable. had just under 50,000 and had major tranny problems, took it off roading one day with my bud hit a nice jump and when we came down lost contol of the truck was slding all over and the tranny mounts broke, and the tranny was latter to be repacled must have got a rock chip haha.

That has nothing to do with diesels. My dad had a 99 magnum and it was a tough truck (woods truck) , but I do agree with the tranny issues.

I don't know if I see the point in any of this. Today I got behind an almost brand new Dodge 3500 towing an empty flatbed gooseneck trailer, although it was probably heavy judging by the tandem axle dual wheels, my 86 Ford with a 460 of all things passed him on a 1.5 mile long mountain that all the locals use to judge and compare their trucks and left him behind. I was towing a stoll 20x7 cattle trailer with one cow in it so I would say the weight was about the same. I doubt very seriously the Dodge was letting me go, I know if I was in the Dodge I wouldn't dream of it. As fast as he was coming down the other side of the mountain I would say he was giving it all it had going up. My guess is the truck was stock but so is mine. Maybe it was the MegaCab slowing him down?

we have a 99 dodge magnum with 447 k miles on it,super truck, but we also have aearly 90's f150 with 787k miles with just a tranny rebuilt, will my 06 powerstroke last that long, doubt it, but thats bcz im an animal behind the wheel and im not stock.Dont bother me any though, something goes, something gets replaced with aftermarket! just like my HG blew the other day, my fault i was ******* the SH$(# outta it for a long period of time with a super race tune in, new hg and arp headstuds..now im good

Because theres no reason still not to get one, that would be like saying don't buy a 6.0 powerstroke because so many have flown apart. Like I said earlier everything has its good and bad qualities. But personally I would rather ebuilt a tranny than an engine.
