Hey All.
New to this forum so hello to everyone.
This is my deal, The place where I work is selling a '04 F350 powerstroke, Turbo diesel, crew cab, 4wd, short bed, 35K mi. It has a good history. It is not used as a work truck. (the owners son drives it to & from work. I can probly get it for 25 grand out-the-door.
My problem is my friend who is a Ford Diesel tech said not to touch this thing with a 10 foot pole! Everyone I talk to said this truck, this year, this engine is going to be trouble. Not a matter of if, but when. I've looked at a lot of stuph on the net (including this forum) and the stories are being confirmed. My question for you guys: would you buy it, or wait a year or two and get a somthing else?
Thanks.
Edit: There are several threads in this forum regarding this very topic. Some of them are quite long, but I will say that they are worth browsing through.

Red Mine has been the best truck I've ever owned. There are some problem truck out there but if you know the history of this truck with no problems then I'd go for it! Remember that most posters are looking for answers to their problems & we with no problem are just lurking around. It's your money and if you think it's a good truck then it probable is. Good luck with your choice.
