My truck (90 F-150 5.0 auto 4x4) has a power surge when driving. I have recently "taken care of" a catalytic converter issue (it was extremely clogged) installed new spark plugs, wires, coil, cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil change, cleaned IAC.....Still throws a code to replace the TPS.....would the TPS make the engine surge while driving, have a significant loss of power, and make the engine act like it is off when i let off of the gas?
With the catalytic converter problem fixed, and the tune up the power is alot better, but it still surges and has a loss of power after driving for awhile. Any ideas????? I will be fixing the TPS problem soon, but thought i would ask. Also is it possible to transplant a 5.0 motor from a Mustang into the truck and have any more power. Mine seems kinda "doggy". I hear the internals of the motor are different and have several mustang parts sitting around the garage that are beggin to be used.
