Rebuild??
I have a 1969 302, its not in an engine. It seems to not have much play in the motor, we took the oil an off and there was a little bit of gunk and looked and took out the rod and main bearing and they really need replaced. I was wondering should I rebuild the whole engine? but does it need it? how can I figure it out?

do the cylinders look ok?if the engine is out i would go thru it.if the bearings look bad the crank probably needs to be ground.if you're going to do that much may as well go the xtra and ring it.that way you are starting fresh.
