Best Mat'l for Header Gaskets
I have a pair of Hedman Elite Headers (long-tube), and the stock Hedman-supplied gaskets (some cardboardish material) are leaking like a *****.
Which gaskets should I replace them with? i.e. what material of gasket?

In most header installs, its found that the header exspands and contract at a much difrent rate than the heads. unlike the heavy cast manifolds. This can cause the retainers to loosen from the repetitive change. Don't over tighten the bolts as warp of flanges can render them very hard to seal ever. there are lots of trick retainers out there just for this reason. copper are good , but always go back to the scene and retourqe a new install. Copper doesn't burn out as fast in the event of a leak but does take a seat to the two surfaces. Some of the high performance paperlike setts seem more forgiving ( reseatable ) and resist burn out better than O E .
