Does someone maybe have an easier way to position the brackets and mounts into a '55 f100 for a 302/C4 swap? Other than having to lower the engine/trans into the engine well measure and pull them back out.
Good news. You can buy mounts which bolt right in from a number of suppliers.
I used these and they work fine. Of course, you can have them welded into place after bolting in if you'd like.
It may seem like a lot of work but that's the best way to do it. You certainly would not want to weld anything in without first making sure it fits. I lost count of how many times I had my engine and transmission in and out.

I made decent notes of where my inner fenders were in relation to the frame (as looking down from above) then I removed the front clip from the truck. It sure is alot easier to mess with without those big fat fenders in the way. I lost track of how many times I had the engine/tranny in and out. I had to compeltely fabricate my own engine and tranny mounts for my Cadillac set up. I also boxed the frame in the front.
