2003 Econoline Van Odometer
I have a 2003 for Econoline van that has had it's speedometer/odometer replcaed. The only problem is that I had over 50K miles on the original speedometer. I am **** when it comes to things like this.
I would like to PUT MILES ONTO the odometer(yes you read it right), not take off miles.
I would like to do this due to it being replaced with a new one.
How does one do something like this?
Welcome to FTE lots of good people and info around here.
Okay something doesn't sound right. Are you saying you took your Van in for repair and they replaced the instrument cluster and now it reads zero miles?
Anytime an instrument cluster is changed that contains an odometer the vehicle must be kept in lock up at the repair facility and the new cluster is ordered from the manufacture with the correct mileage already set on the odometer. This is a federal law. The manufacture sends out the new cluster/odometer already set to the mileage on your original cluster.
Something is definitely not right here

oh really??? It replaced by a small repair shop about 3 months ago and now since out of biz WTF
Anyhow, is there a way to put miles on it? If so, how does one do it?
You know i am not sure if there is any way to add or delete miles on it legally. The crack down on odometer rollbacks leads me to believe you are better off leaving well enough alone. You know the true mileage on the vehicle for service intervals so i think i might just let sleeping dogs lie.
Someone with more knowledge of the system may come along with a fix though.
Hope this helps
