hey guys i just got an 89 bronco and none of the power windows work. i checked the fuses and there good. the driver motor makes a click but doesnt go down and the passenger window doesnt go down nor does the rear. i find it odd that all the windows are busted at ones?
if you hear the motors runnning it might be the tourque pins. these go out and need replacing. i made new ones out of fuel line and some steel rod. pull the panel and check if the motor is running. it is an ease fix. you can make a jumper wire to a battery and see if direct power moves the window if so it is power issues if motor spins and no movement bad pins or drive gear....mike
only the drive window click it doesnt even turn it just makes a clicking noise up and down but no window movement so its like frozen?!?! and the passenger and rear window dont move at all nor does the power lock on the passenger door ughhhhh
Looks like you will be getting into the guts of the switches to figure out where you have power. Start with taking the panels off the doors, and unhooking the motor. Connect a 12V light or a voltage meter up to the contacts and see if you have ~12V going to the motors. Work your way back until you find where you have ~12V of power and then you can find your weak link.
I did have a motor burn up on me with the window down. Took a bit to find out that the motor got power but wouldnt turn. The PO could have just not bothered fixing the windows after they quit, and one by one they just died in place.
if all that i out you migh have a bad ground. you did check the fuses? like said above open the door panel and look for power it needs to be a complet circuit to work. If there is no power then look for where the power stopped if you hav epower then look the other way for a bad or broken connection...mike
