89 F250 problem
The truck shut off on me and started back up on its on while I was driving.It did it again the next day but this time it wont start at all.The check engine light didn't come on but i checked the cods and the only thing that came up was the ECT and ACT. I don't think the ECT wold cause it to shut off but i cold be wrong. And i have no clue as to what an ACT is or where it is.

You got the ECT code because the engine was cold. I do not know why you would get the ACT - (Air Charge Temperature sensor) unless it is bad.
Did you have black smoke out the back when it was shutting off?
I would check for spark and if you have spark check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail test point.
